Janisch, Frank "Dick" Richard Age 87, of Burnsville, MN, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2020, with family by his side. He is survived by his wife Barbara; son, Mark; daughters, Nancy (Rick) Bergman, Karen (Dan Tschida), and Brenda; Grandchildren, Sarah (19), Audrey (18), Henry (17), Alana (17), Lizzy (15) and, Spencer (15); sister, Betts (Ed) Nightingale; brother, Bill Janisch (Rita Brenner); and many other friends and family. Dick was born to Frank and Matilda, October 25, 1933, in River Falls, WI. He was the oldest of three children. After graduating high school, he attended university in WI until he joined the Navy where he served as an officer and pilot. Flying aircraft including the B-29 took him to Guam, Hawaii, and Okinawa. After the military, he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. Dick met Barbara Mahoney, his wife of 59 years on a blind date, where they went roller skating around Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis. Dick and Barbara were married in 1961 and moved to Burnsville, Minnesota where they raised four children. Dick had a long career with Univac/Sperry/Unisys and retired at the age of 55. He was a devoted husband and father spending much time with his family. Gardening, cooking, competitive bridge, and golf were a few of his favorite hobbies. A funeral service and celebration of life will be held at St. Joan of Arc church in early spring when it is safe.
