Houle, Howard "Howie" age 98, of Anoka, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020. Howard was born October 13, 1921 in Centerville MN; the son of Theodore and Mary (Durham) Houle. He was a 1939 graduate of White Bear Lake High School and attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. He retired from 3M in 1984 where he worked as a machinist for 34 years. He proudly served as a Machinist's Mate in the United States Navy from 1942 - 1946 in the Asiatic Pacific and the Korean War from 1951 - 1953. He was a member of the Coon Rapids VFW 9625, the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Howard enjoyed farming, horseshoes, bowling, playing cards and fishing for walleyes! Howard is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Vernette; step-children, Steve (Terri), Karen (Terje), Dave (Kim), & Joan (Harold); Grandchildren Aaron, Stephanie, Victoria, Andrew, Cody, Joe, Marla, Dillon, and Tanner; 3 great-grandchildren; loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, thirteen brothers and sisters, and daughter Lorna Jean. A private family service will be held with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
