Hoffman, Jay Frederick Minnetonka, born March 22, 1947, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 4th after several years of declining health. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harriet E. Hoffman and Elliott B. Hoffman. Jay is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Roberta; loving sons, Edward (Lauren) and David (Rachael); grandchildren, Maxwell, Tessa, Avery, Ryan and Simon; brother, Michael Hoffman (Elizabeth); brother-in-law, Charles Davis (Sheila); and loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Jay was an active member of Adath Jeshurun Congregation and a volunteer for JFCS. Avid tennis player and golfer, his greatest love was coaching his sons and their friends in Little League and basketball and recently attending all his grandchildren's activities. He and Roberta enjoyed tennis, golf, bridge, theater and concerts. Jay's infectious spirit will be sadly missed by his many friends and family. The family would like to thank the caring staff at New Perspective and Brookdale Hospice.
