Anderson, Melbourne Arden Age 85, died peacefully the morning of March 19, 2020. Mel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was born in Madelia, MN on May 31, 1934 to Malte Arthur Walentin Anderson and Agnes (Jorgenson) Anderson. He graduated from Comfrey High School, class of 1952. Mel and Ileen Ann Fladmo were married on July 2, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanska, MN. Mel's career with Supersweet Feeds (a division of International Multifoods) and Nestle Corporation spanned over 35 years. He and Ileen retired in 1990 to Carefree Country Club in Big Lake, MN and Harlingen and Pharr, TX. Mel had a life-long love of country music and played bass guitar for many years with "The Country Capers." Despite his declining health from dementia, Mel never lost his ability to sing and play. He and Pastor Joe Sir and Noah performed beautiful music together twice a month for family and the residents of Prelude Home, Woodbury. Mel is preceded in death by his parents, Malte and Agnes and his great-grandson, Mason Blumberg. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Ileen and his loving sister, Janice Blomeke, his first best friend. He is also survived by his three children, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Laurie J. (Rev. William B.) MacLean and their children, Edward (Ted) MacLean (Maggie Sanders), Anna (Michael) Coffey and their daughter, Emma, Grace (Michael) Perillo and their son, Thomas born March 18, 2020, and Julia MacLean; Larry J. (Debra) Anderson and their children, Rachel (Eddie) Abarca and their daughter, Elena, and Tyler Anderson (Rebecca Cheney); Jayne M. Anderson and her children, Heather (Michael) Blumberg, their daughter, Arietta, and their son, Bennett, Eric Roos (Tyler Redden), and Robert Roos (Samantha Dahl). Also, many cousins, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Prelude Homes and Grace Hospice for their loving care of our father. Services will be held at some future date.
