Dahlheimer, John Joseph Age 79 of Dayton, MN, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019. He was born March 27, 1939 in Dayton, MN. John was a 1957 graduate from Elk River High School. He honorably served in the National Guard. John was a devoted dairy farmer and also worked at Hoffman Engineering in Anoka for 36 years. On May 9, 1959, John Dahlheimer and Janet Vetsch were united in marriage at St. Albert's Catholic Church in Albertville. The two spent many Saturday nights dancing to old time music and traveling around the country dancing. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling the world, dancing, playing the card game Smear, telling stories, and history especially the Civil War and WWII. John's quick wit, smile, and infectious laugh will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Vetsch) Dahlheimer; infant son, John Dahlheimer; son, Todd Dahlheimer; mother, Mildred (Weber) Dahlheimer; parents-in-law, Alvin and Bernice (Eckes) Vetsch; and siblings-in-law, Mary Jane, Dale, Doug and Joseph Vetsch. John is survived by his father, Merlin John Dahlheimer; children, Sandy (Jay) Rock, Randy (Tammie) Dahlheimer, Michelle (Dave) Langefels, Pam Dahlheimer, Jennifer (Chuck) Goede; grandchildren, Tanya (Anson) Brown, Justin (Laura) Rock, Joshua Dahlheimer, Jessica (Frank) Cichocki, Morgan (Jake) Owens, Mandy (Aaron) Hoffmeister, Zachary Dahlheimer, Erika Langefels, David Langefels Jr., Alexander (Erin) Langefels, Luke Langefels, Lily Langefels, Xander Dahlheimer, Sarena Dahlheimer, Hannah Goede, Ella Goede, Ella Harris; great-grandchildren, Ryder and Roxy Brown, Celia Dahlheimer, Oliver and Audrey Cichocki; siblings, Pete (Jean) Dahlheimer, Carmen (John) Berning, Janet Murray, Marcia (Steve) Heath, Mike (Darlene) Dahlheimer, Joe (Joanne) Dahlheimer, Chuck (Cindy) Dahlheimer, Phillip (Anne) Dahlheimer, Sharon (Robert) Henke, Jim (Lynda) Dahlheimer, Renee Thayer; siblings-in-law, Dennis (Leona) Vetsch, Betty Vetsch, Judy Forsythe, Betsy Vetsch, Marilyn "Cheech" (Dennis) Dahl, Mary Kay (Sue Warn) Vetsch, Barb (John) Gangl; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dayton, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dayton, MN. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
