Leyden, Marian C. Our mother passed away September 24th at the age of 92. She lived in Minneapolis and the surrounding areas her entire life. Her mind and memory remained sharp throughout her journey, and she found delight in so many aspects of life. These are just a few of her favorite things: Her dear husband and children, parents, only sister, grandchildren, great grandchildren, so many relatives & friends, family parties, a clean waxed kitchen floor at the home where so many memories were made on Humboldt Avenue, good cake, cold milk, hot chocolate, playing both the piano and accordion by ear, Orange Crush, ice cream, baking bread and so many other great goodies, reading the Taste Section and Obituaries, savoring good meals, singing and listening to songs of the 1940s, Avon, roses, Lawrence Welk, Wayne Newton, Lake Harriet, pretty dishware, thank you notes both written and received, giving gifts, writing letters, greeting cards, reading, knitting afghans, her private relationship with God and her beliefs Her life was a long journey and Mom took it on her own terms. Our mother is survived by her four children: Frank Jr. (Adella) Leyden, Kathy (Ron) Tucker, Dianna (Steven) Erickson, Kerrie (Bill) Foster, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grand-children, 2 nephews, 1 niece, many cousins and friends. We thank all of you who helped her through the last 29 years when her world stopped at the passing of her beloved husband. She expressed her gratitude often. God bless you and keep you, Mom, until we meet again. We thank God for giving us simply wonderful parents. We are forever grateful.
