A motorcyclist has been killed and his passenger badly injured in a collision with a semitrailer truck near Rochester, the State Patrol said Friday.
The wreck occurred about 6:20 p.m. Thursday on Hwy. 42 about 10 miles east of Rochester near SE. 19th Street on the western edge of Eyota, the patrol said.
The name of the motorcyclist — a 49-year-old Rochester man — was not yet released. His passenger, Lori Ann Jean Danielson, 48, of Rochester, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, the patrol said. Neither was wearing a helmet.
The motorcycle and semi were heading north when they collided, the patrol said.
The truck driver, Matthew L. Mueller, 30, of nearby Lewiston, Minn., was not hurt.
