At least one more day is needed to finish work on removing a bridge pier in south Minneapolis, so that means at least another day when access to Minnehaha Parkway is restricted.
The state Department of Transportation says pedestrian and bike paths along Minnehaha Creek at I-35W will not be accessible today until 7 tonight while the removal work goes ahead.
This is part of the larger I-35W/Crosstown reconstruction project.
The work was supposed to have been wrapped up Wednesday, but it has not progressed as quickly as expected, said MnDOT, which added the parkway may need to be closed again Friday.
