A Roosevelt High School student was seriously hurt during a soccer game Monday in St. Paul and is hospitalized in intensive care, according to a post on the Minneapolis school's Facebook page. The player was identified in the post as Ahmed Bashe, a senior.

The posting from Thursday said: "On Monday evening, our boys' varsity soccer team was playing at St. Paul Johnson High School. Ahmed went to head a ball into the opponents' goal when he collided with the goalie. He was taken from the field and transported by ambulance to the hospital. He has been there ever since."

Bashe's condition was not known Thursday.

The school is accepting donations to support Bashe's family. Donations can be given to any Roosevelt High School staff member or sent to Roosevelt High School, Attention: Christol, 4029 28th Av. S., Minneapolis, MN 55406.
