A St. Paul police officer and a woman were hospitalized after a man fleeing SWAT officers collided head-on with a police squad vehicle Saturday, authorities said.
The man was trying to escape arrest about 6:30 p.m. during a drug investigation in the Frogtown neighborhood near Lafond Avenue and Arundel Street, police said.
Police said he sped about a mile west on Lafond before colliding with a marked squad car on patrol near Milton Street. The suspect ran off and has not been found.
An officer in the squad car and a woman riding with the suspect were taken to Regions Hospital, police said. Neither was seriously injured.
The incident was under investigation.
