Dr. Martin Tobin, a Chicago physician who has specialized in respiratory and critical care medicine for decades, said he has reviewed much of the evidence and concluded that "Floyd died from a low level of oxygen. This caused damage to his brain that we see, and it also caused a [pulseless electrical activity] arrhythmia that caused his heart to stop."
"It's like the left side is in a vise," said Dr. Martin Tobin, explaining how George Floyd's breathing was inhibited. Testimony resumed Thursday in the Derek Chauvin murder trial with the prosecution expected to call more medical experts to testify about Floyd's death late last spring.
Three forensic scientists testified Wednesday for the prosecution about the process of gathering and testing evidence from George Floyd's vehicle and a squad car.
