Although Nina Archabal will be definitely missed after her retirement from directorship of the Minnesota Historical Society, she has prepared a definitive path for her replacement to continue her success ("Protecting the past, she built a legacy for state's future," April 23). Archabal's most significant accomplishment may be her talent for transforming history as an isolated discipline and weaving it into current life, so we may look into the future to see the imprint of human legacy.
