Flood Threat Level

Between now and the end of the weekend, episodes of heavy rain will impactthe the entire area from the southern Plains to the mid-Appalachians. Rain willfall north and south of the area shown on the map, but this is where we feelthe heaviest rain will be. In some instances, total rainfall during the periodwill exceed 5 inches.With the ground already wet through much of this region and with streams andrivers running at higher than normal levels, flooding is almost certain tooccur.
