The freshman volleyball player -- one of five Gophers athletes we're featuring playing prominent roles in fall/winter sports -- sees the importance of togetherness at home and on the court.
Gopher to watch: Runar Arnorsson, golf
Runar Arnorsson is a 23-year-old sophomore preparing for another strong season, which begins Sunday with the Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm in Independence. Last season he played in all 11 tournaments and had a 74.78 stroke average.
Gopher to watch: Eric Murray, football
Eric Murray wanted to play wide receiver, but Gophers defensive backs coach Jay Sawvel got hold of him and helped turn him into one of the best cornerbacks in the country.
Gopher to watch: Michael Kroells, wrestling
Michael Kroells is just as comfortable explaining the essence of aerospace engineering, his major, as he is detailing the technical skills required to pin a 260-pound body.
Gopher to watch: Yu Zhou, diving
More than a decade after leaving home as a child to begin diving competitively, and across an ocean and half a continent, Yu Zhou became an NCAA national champion for the Gophers.
