SnowGRADE

The men's pop-up market NorthernGRADE was such a hit the past two Septembers that now there's a winter version. The daylong SnowGRADE debuts this weekend, packed with the same U.S.-made heritage brands, including Minnesota-based Red Wing Shoes, J.W. Hulme Co., Pierrepont Hicks Tie Co. and Faribault Woolen Mill, and local men's shops MartinPatrick3, Askov Finlayson and BlackBlue. In workshops, you can learn handy skills such as restoring an ax, canvas waxing and home brewing.

Vintage sales

Vintage havens are unloading their cold-weather goods to make way for spring merchandise. Friday through Sunday, Rewind Vintage hosts its semiannual "Get Pretty" sale at its northeast and south Minneapolis locations (2829 NE. Johnson St. and 4806 Chicago Av. S.), offering 25 percent off everything in the stores. So will fellow Northeast shop Fried Bologna Vintage (158 13th Av. NE., Mpls.). Beginning next week, St. Paul's Up Six Vintage will mark everything down 10 to 30 percent during its semiannual sale.
