Rep. Tim Walz, the two-term Democratic representative from Minnesota's First Congressional District, is getting help from the Democratic National Committee in the wake of his decision to vote for the health care overhaul bill that became law Tuesday.
The DNC announced Wednesday that he is one of 25 Democratic House members who will, altogether, get a $1 million shout out in the form of what the party describes as a 30-second "thank you" ad.
Walz, who Republicans have targeted as highly vulnerable in a district that has long leaned toward the GOP, waited until Saturday to announce that he would support the health care bill.
The DNC also announced that it will air ads blasting 10 Republican House members for their opposition to the bill. So far, the three GOP members of Minnesota's delegation haven't made the list. But stay tuned.
