Authorities have identified a man who died from a fire in his Moorhead home.

Phillip S. Skatvold, 68, lived in the home in the 2400 block of Country Club Parkway with his adult daughter, Kristen, who was taken from the blaze about 1:40 a.m. on April 14 and briefly hospitalized, police said.

A third person in the home at the time required a longer hospital stay, police added. Her identity has not been disclosed.

Phillip Skatvold's son, Ben Skatvold, told the Forum newspaper of Fargo that officials told him the suspected source of the fire was a baseboard heater. He added that his sister and her boyfriend were both at the place on Parkway on Friday night and the fire was accidental.

Ben Skatvold said he father was an avid clock collector, having acquired nearly 300.

"They're all burnt down now," he told the Forum.
