When it comes to eating organic, there are certain factors I consider when feeding my family. I want to provide them with the highest quality food while still being able to pay the bills. So which foods can I afford to skim on? Luckily the Environmental Working Group (EWG) came up with a list of produce with the most pesticides that should always be consumed organic. They then came up with another list called the "Clean 15," which are the produce lowest in pesticides.

I know the toxic harm from pesticides is not only hard on the earth but also toxic to the body. That toxicity is more dangerous for children and pregnant women. In fact, one type of pesticide, called an organophosphate, is linked to increasing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children. Scientists conducted a study and sampled urine specimens for the pesticide byproducts and found that kids who had much higher levels of the chemical byproduct were more likely to have ADHD. It's no secret that pesticides are harmful. Still, we often forget that in the grocery store, but, with studies like these that point to specific disorders connected to the chemicals in our food, it's hard to turn a blind eye to it.
