What about That next East Coast Storm?

November 17, 2009 at 8:25PM

Regarding the East Coast situation, the damage has already been done. The stormthat battered the coast with strong winds and high seas last week is notexpected to be rivaled by the next system. That being said, another stormhappening so soon can certainly aggravate existing adverse conditions. The next storm of concern has yet to be born. We think the disturbance willtake shape in the western Gulf of Mexico Friday, then move to the eastern GulfSaturday. From there it will make the familiar turn toward the northeast, bringing rain and some wind to the central Atlantic region Sunday. Again, we donot think this next system will rival the last one in regard to wind andcoastal flooding.

Whether or not this storm will impact New England weather early next week isnot evident at this time. It could veer out to sea Monday, causing very littleweather at all up north. We'll keep a check on that as we go.
