Rep. Tim Walz is one of 15 House Democrats on a list of vulnerable incumbents that will receive party support in 2012, the latest sign that Minnesota is going to be a congressional battleground next November.

Walz made the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's "Frontline" list released Thursday, which means he will likely be aided by the party with fundraising and other support in 2012.

The Republican's congressional campaign counterpart, the National Republican Congressional Committee, has already started targeting Walz for 2012. The NRCC spent more than $500,000 against him in 2010, when Walz beat state Rep. Randy Demmer 49-44.

The DCCC spent more than $250,000 helping Walz defend his seat in 2010.

On the other side of the coin, Democrats see freshman GOP Rep. Chip Cravaack's seat as a prime pickup opportunity, and the DCCC has started running ads targeting him.

The Democrats' list of vulnerable House members also includes Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, who is recovering after being shot in January.
