Jerry Zgoda missed the entire Kevin Garnett era, but he's back covering the Timberwolves after working the beat for their first four seasons two decades ago. In between, he covered a bit of everything: Gopher men's and women's basketball and NCAA athletics, golf, outdoor recreation, sports media and a little Vikings and Twins.

Beasley trade is done: Deal includes two 2s, no first-round swap

Four days after it was agreed upon, the Timberwolves and Heat this afternoon completed that trade that will send Michael Beasley to Minnesota.

The deal sends second-round picks in 2011 and 2014 and cash considerations for Miami.

There is no swap of first-round picks -- as was part of the arrangement when reached late Thursday night, right after LeBron James announced he will play for the Heat -- despite it being in a release just issued by the Wolves, which has now been corrected.
