Jerry Zgoda missed the entire Kevin Garnett era, but he's back covering the Timberwolves after working the beat for their first four seasons two decades ago. In between, he covered a bit of everything: Gopher men's and women's basketball and NCAA athletics, golf, outdoor recreation, sports media and a little Vikings and Twins.

Cavaliers beat writer Brian Windhorst tweeted in the last half hour that Cleveland is in talks with the Wolves to acquire Jonny Flynn, presumably in an attempt to convince LeBron to stay with the promise that the Cavs will become a running team.

Flynn is represented by LeBron's agents.

Stay tuned.

Going to see if I can track down Mr. Flynn at summer-league workouts at Target Center.
