MINNEAPOLIS — A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press the Minnesota Timberwolves have traded Trey Burke to Utah for the 14th and 21st overall picks in the first round of the NBA draft.

The Timberwolves chose the Michigan point guard at No. 9 on Thursday night after their top shooting guard targets — Victor Oladipo, Ben McLemore and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope — were chosen ahead of them. They then sent Burke to Utah for the two first-rounders the Jazz have. The person requested anonymity because the deal had not been officially announced.

The trade gives the Jazz the point guard they have been looking for, and gives the Wolves three first-round picks.

The Wolves also have the 26th overall pick in the first round.
