The Vikings have known since Saturday they were going to meet the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional playoffs on Sunday at the Metrodome. Today, preparations for that game will begin in earnest at Winter Park.

The Vikings had light workouts on Sunday and Monday before taking their normal day off Tuesday. The coaching staff began preparing for the Cowboys last week even before Dallas beat Philadelphia in its first-round playoff game.

Much of the game plan will be installed over the next two days during practices. The Vikings news conferences today will include coach Brad Childress and quarterback Brett Favre. We'll have reaction from both as well as the first injury report of the week from the Vikings and Cowboys later this afternoon. Chip also will be talking to players in the Vikings locker room. (Chip is extremely upset about what happened with the Tennessee football program last night so he's not in a very good mood right now.)

Our NFL writer, Mark Craig, will be in Dallas starting today covering the Cowboys so check his blog for reaction from the Vikings opponent.
