Three quick thoughts after the Twins lost 6-2 to the White Sox on Wednesday.

1. Priority No. 1: I just checked the stats, and the Twins starters have a 5.47 ERA. It's not in the running for highest ERA in club history, but it's still the highest in the American League. The need to bring in quality starting pitching is obvious - but one thing concerns me. I recently spoke to an official with another club who believes that pitchers like this guy will get $10 million a year during the offseason. That's scary to think.

2. The Hammer takes it easy. Josh Willingham rested his sore hamstring on Wednesday until a pinch hit appearance in the ninth inning. He thinks he should be fine to play in the outfield on Friday when the Twins start a series against Cleveland. We'll see.

3. White Sox attendance. Can you believe that the White Sox are worried about drawing 2 million fans this season? They have begun slashing ticket prices in an effort to get fans to come to games. It's not a cozy location like Wrigley Field, but the neighborhood isn't bad. It's gotta be the economy. The Twins are going to draw about 2.8 million this season, which is impressive for a team that's going to lose 90 games in back-to-back years. It will be interesting to see if the Twins make the right offseason moves to keep their season ticket base strong and not just rely on the 2014 All-Star Game to make people hold on to their seats.
