History making
The entire Cubs infield was voted to start for the National League in this year's All-Star Game, the second time in major league history one team has had its entire infield selected to start in the game. The only other team achieving that distinction was the 1963 St. Louis Cardinals. Here's a look at the two infields:
2016 Cubs
1B: Anthony Rizzo
Third consecutive season as All-Star; .299 with 21 HR, 63 RBI.
2B: Ben Zobrist
Offseason free-agent signee from Royals batting .283 with 13 HR, 47 RBI.
SS: Addison Russell
Batting only .237, but he has provided power and runs with 11 HR, 51 RBI.
3B: Kris Bryant
Last season's NL Rookie of the Year leads NL with 25 home runs at the break.
1963 Cardinals
1B: Bill White
White in 1963 was in midst of three-year stretch with at least 20 HR and 100 RBI.
2B: Julian Javier
Played first of two All-Star Games in '63, played first 12 seasons with St. Louis.
SS: Dick Groat
NL batting champ in 1960 with Pirates, batted .319 in '63 for Cardinals.
3B: Ken Boyer
Six straight All-Star Games (1959-64); had at least 24 HR each of those seasons.
