Three Twins postgame thoughts from LEN3: Nolasco, Dozier, injury updates

Here are three postgame thoughts following the Twins' 5-4 win over Chicago.

NOLASCO: Ricky Nolasco needed 104 pitches to get through 5.1 innings on Friday. It was the seventh time he failed to pitch at least six innings. When asked what he thought about his stuff, he replied: ``Honestly, I felt my stuff was terrible.'' At least he was honest. After giving up two home runs in the first inning, he was able to slow down the White Sox offense.

DOZIER: Brian Dozier had one heck of a ninth inning on Friday. On the double play, his initial reaction was to go for the force play at home, but something changed his mind. He went for the double play and it got the Twins into the bottom of the ninth. And Danny Santana has an arm and a half. He got rid of Dozier's throw quickly and with all kinds of power on it.  ``Hats off to Danny,'' Dozier said. ``If he doesn't have a AK-47 attached to his body we might not turn the double play.''

INJURY UPDATES: Eduardo Nunez, on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring, ran sprints on Friday with no problems. Nunez likely won't need the entire DL stint to get healthy, but the Twins didn't want to play shorthanded for another handful of days....Trevor Plouffe, on the 15-day DL with a rib injury, still feels discomfort when he swings a bat. He won't begin other baseball-related activities until the discomfort goes way....Mike Pelfrey visited Twins doctors for a normal post-op checkup. He'll be out at least a couple months and possibly the rest of the season.
