Discover the beauty and importance of native prairie and how to plant your own prairie wildflower garden. Prairie wildflower gardens bloom throughout the growing season and help to preserve the state's prairie heritage. Take free butterfly weed seedlings. Women's fly-fishing clinic

Learn about the eating habits of fish and how to tie flies. Also learn tips on how to cast. The group will fish the St. Croix River if conditions permit. To register, call 651-231-6968. Geocache kickoff

Wild River State Park

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will kick off its "Call of the Wildflowers" geocaching program at its 74 state parks and seven trails. Baker Park Reserve

The event, at the Baker Near-Wilderness Settlement, will emphasize basics and safety. Participants will shoot traditional and 3-D animal targets. Equipment provided.
