SOUTH REGION Memphis

The filet mignon matchup

Ohio State vs. Dayton

These schools are located about one hour apart and will meet for the first time since 2008, this time in Buffalo, N.Y. The Buckeyes started 15-0 before losing five of six to fall from the AP Top 25. Dayton lost in the Atlantic-10 quarterfinals.

Stick a fork in them?

Virginia Commonwealth

Stephen F. Austin dominated a weak schedule and has all the traits of a Cinderella. The Lumberjacks drew a vulnerable opponent, too, as VCU lost Melvin Johnson, the A-10’s sixth man of the year, to a knee injury Saturday.

Grade-A player

Andrew Wiggins, Kansas

Those who called him the next LeBron James might have been disappointed by his freshman season, but he averaged a team-high 17.4 points and 6.0 rebounds. The 6-8 forward scored 41 points against West Virginia and 30 against Oklahoma State this month.
