GUARD-HEAVY

The Gophers and Michigan both start three perimeter players who are critical to their teams' success. Here is a quick look at those players:

GOPHERS

Andre Hollins: Sophomore point guard is having a breakout year, leading the team in scoring (14.4 points per game), assists (3.6 per game) and three-point shooting (43 percent).

Austin Hollins: Junior averages 10.9 points, shoots almost 40 percent on three-pointers and has become the Gophers' defensive stopper on the perimeter.

Joe Coleman: Sophomore is averaging 10.9 points and scored a career-high 29 at Illinois on Jan. 9. Excels at cutting and moving without the ball.

MICHIGAN

Trey Burke: Has become, as a sophomore, one of the best point guards in the country. Averages 18.0 points, 7.1 assists and is shooting 52 percent from the field.

Tim Hardaway Jr.: The junior and son of the former NBA standout has good size (6-6) and is Michigan's second-leading scorer (16.1 ppg) behind Burke.

Nik Stauskas: Freshman sharpshooter has been a difference maker. He is 46-for-91 (50.5 percent) from three-point range this season.
