A look at how Big Ten teams have fared as they approach conference play:

LEAGUE REFRESHER

Conference play in the Big Ten begins in eight days. With that in mind, here's a rundown on the early part of the season:

• Overall record of 113-30 (.790).

• Six teams with 10 or more victories.

• Six teams ranked in the AP Top 25. Indiana held the No. 1 spot until its loss to Butler last weekend.

• One undefeated team: Michigan. The Wolverines have the second-best start in program history.

• Before losing to Missouri on Saturday, Illinois was off to its best unbeaten start since 2005-06, when the Illini opened the year 15-0.

• Four players have scored 30 or more points in a game: the Gophers' Andre Hollins (41), Illinois' Brandon Paul (35), Ohio State's Deshaun Thomas (31) and Iowa's Roy Devyn Marble (30).
