Standout Gophers forward Trevor Mbakwe was questioned around 2 a.m. Sunday after police responded to a damage to property call near the intersection of 14th Avenue and 5th Street SE, according to Minneapolis police spokesman Sgt. Steve McCarty. Mbakwe, however, was not arrested, he said.

"He was questioned," McCarty said.

McCarty said he doesn't expect charges to be filed in the incident, but "there again, it's up to the city attorney's office."

Mbakwe, a second-team All-Big Ten selection this season, was arrested in January for violating a harassment restraining order. The junior sat out the entire 2009-10 season while awaiting trial for a felony assault charge stemming from an alleged incident in Miami. Mbakwe maintained his innocence in that case, which was ultimately resolved when Mbakwe entered a pretrial program.
