Gophers senior forward Trevor Mbakwe left the Gophers game against Dayton early in the second half with a right knee injury. The extent of the injury is not known yet, but Mbakwe was not putting pressure on his right leg as he was helped off the court. The knee appeared to buckle as he battled for rebounding position.

A Gophers spokesman said Mbakwe will have an MRI on Monday. Mbakwe returned to the bench for part of teh second half with a large ice pack on his knee. Later, after leaving the bench again, this tweet came from Mbakwe's Twitter account: "Lord please get me through this."

Mbakwe was the team's leading scorer and rebounder at 14.8 points and 10 rebounds a game coming into the championship game of the Old Spice Classic in Orlando.
