The Twins have signed lefthander Tyler Jay, their first round pick from the June 6 draft.
Jay, who played at Illinois passed a physical on Wednesday, which was one of the final hurdles before the deal could be wrapped up. His fastball has touched 95 miles-an-hour to go with an excellent breaking ball. His control is so good that some have wondered if he could help the Twins out this season.
