The Twins placed reliever Brian Duensing on the disabled list Friday with a strained muscle in his rib cage and called up Caleb Thielbar from Rochester to replace him.
Duensing suffered the injury during the ninth inning of Friday's 8-5 victory over Kansas City, when he retired one of four batters that he faced and was replaced by Glen Perkins to finish the game.
Thielbar pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in three appearances at Rochester. He has a 5-3 record and 2.59 ERA in 103 appearances for the Twins in 2013 and 2014. He will be in uniform for tonight's game against Cleveland.
