Haula joins Finnish team for world hockey tournament in Belarus

  • Updated: May 14, 2014 - 2:46 PM

Wild forward Erik Haula has been added to Finland’s roster for the 2014 IIHF World Championship, which currently are being played in Belarus.

Haula, 23, scored four goals in the Wid's 13 playoff games, including the only goal in Tuesday night's 2-1 loss to Chicago that eliminated the Wild from the Stanley Cup playoffs. He had a plus-14 rating in 46 games with the Wild and also played 31 games for the Wild's minor-league team in Iowa.

This will mark the fourth time Haula, who played college hockey for the University of Minnesota, has represented Finland in international competition.

Finland has a 1-2 record through the preliminary round of the tournament and so far is the only Wild player to join a team.
