Hometown: Warroad, Minn.

Birthdate: Dec. 23, 1986

The early days: Led Warroad to the Class 1A state championship in 2005 and played three seasons at the University of North Dakota, becoming a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as a junior.

NHL career: Selected in the first round (24th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in 2005. He has 84 goals and 157 assists in 349 career NHL games.

Favorite sport outside of hockey: Golf

Favorite athlete: Tiger Woods

Favorite sport to watch at Winter Olympics besides hockey: snowboarding

Family ties: He’s the great-nephew of former Warroad star Max Oshie, who holds the state record for goals in a game. Max scored 12 goals in a game against Thief River Falls in 1948.
