Wolves guard Brandon Roy suffered another setback Saturday in his quest to return from his chronically sore right knee. Clearly frustrated, Roy sounded less than certain when asked if he's confident he will be able to play again this season.

"That's a hard one," Roy said. "There are moments when I don't know if it will happen again. And then I'll start working out, building, and I get to a place where I have a great workout. Friday, I worked out great, and Saturday there was another setback. So I'm disappointed right now. But, if it settles down, mentally I think I can start building my confidence to hopefully get back out there."

Roy said he made a move and felt a tweak in the knee. He has been out since early in the season after bumping his knee, which ultimately required another surgery. After a setback during his rehabilitation from that procedure, David Kahn, president of basketball operations, said Roy would try a different treatment.

Roy indicated that included a special brace designed to take some of the pressure off the joint. But he said getting used to the brace has been difficult; he has had to work through brace-related hamstring pain but was making progress until Saturday.

"Right now I'm able to work out," Roy said. "But we're trying to get a new schedule where we don't pound day to day. Maybe I'll work hard on a Monday, then go lighter on Tuesday."

Doctors have told Roy that he hasn't suffered further damage to the joint, but it appears any return to the court is a ways off.

"I'm doing a lot of rehab, doing a lot of workouts with the knee brace," Roy said. "Trying to get used to it."

Etc.

• Wolves coach Rick Adelman said he still is working on finding the right rotation for his four guards. He said he probably should have brought Ricky Rubio and Luke Ridnour back into the game earlier than he did Wednesday.
