Jerome Emerging Printmakers Exhibition

Opening Friday: Jerome Foundation fellowships are designed to encourage experimentation, and this year's fellowship winners delivered. Given nine months of financial support and access to Highpoint's facilities, the 2014-15 fellowship winners — Kieran Riley Abbott, Christopher Alday and Drew Peterson — turned out prints, objects and site-specific installations. The results include bold black-and-white stripes, colorful abstract gestures and optical illusions involving gently twisted grids and what appear to be floating sheets of marbleized paper. Drew Peterson's screen print "Unexpected Expectorant" is shown here. (Opening reception 6:30-9 p.m. May 22, free. Highpoint Center for Printmaking, 912 W. Lake St., Mpls. Ends June 20. 612-871-1326, highpointprintmaking.org.)
