Good morning, commuters!

Here is something we have not had to deal with in a while: rain. With that, be sure to have your headlights and wipers on and do watch your speeds.

Today's the day MnDOT gets to work on the reconstruction of Hwy. 100 between 36th Street and Barry Street, which is just south of I-394. The good news is that most of the prep work will have little impact on traffic. The project eventually will bring some lane and weekend closures this fall. MnDOT will widen northbound Hwy. 100 ramp to eastbound Hwy. 7 and reconstruct the Canadian Pacific Rail Bridge and the Cedar Lake Trail Bridge.

Survey work on southbound 35W between downtown Minneapolis and 46th Street is over. The freeway is back open following a weekend closure.

No issues on the roads at this hour. I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
