Lynx update: The Lynx (13-5, second place in the Western Conference ) contained San Antonio, the league’s best three-point shooting team, Thursday, keeping the Stars to 5-for-15 while going 7-for-13 themselves. G Monica Wright again started for injured G Seimone Augustus, the league’s sixth-leading scorer, and made three pointers in the first quarter. G Lindsay Whalen said her team is a bit reluctant to head back on the road but playing in the world-renowned arena is a good incentive. “We haven’t played in the Garden for three or four years,” she said. “It’ll be fun to take all that in.”

Liberty update: The Liberty sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with a 6-11 record but has a two-game winning streak. In their last meeting, the Liberty lost to the Lynx 87-82 on May 24 at Target Center. C Tina Charles is the league’s seventh-leading scorer, averaging 16.7 per game. Charles also ranks fourth in the league in rebounds, averaging 9.3 per game.
