MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the fatal shootings of his girlfriend and her parents more than two years ago.

Sedrick Clayton was convicted Saturday following a jury trial in the deaths of 23-year-old Pashea Fisher and her parents during an argument in January 2012.

Clayton and Fisher's 4-year-old daughter was in the house at the time. Clayton took the girl with him before turning himself in hours after the shooting. The girl, now 6, was a key trial witness.

A sentencing hearing began Saturday afternoon, about an hour after the verdict was announced. Clayton could face the death penalty. Before the trial, he offered to plead guilty in return for serving three consecutive life sentences. Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich rejected the offer.
