It could be three months before Anoka County has a courts administrator to replace Jennifer Ann Schlieper, who resigned last week after being investigated for allegedly having charged $2,500 in personal expenses to the state.

Michael Moriarity, administrator for the 10th Judicial District, was appointed acting court administrator for Anoka County by Chief Judge John C. Hoffman in December, when Schlieper was placed on paid administrative leave. A monthlong search will be launched before the district’s judges ultimately select an administrator.

The administrator oversees the court’s $5.5 million annual operating budget, among other duties.

The Hennepin County attorney’s office decided last month, after reviewing the Anoka County sheriff’s report, that Schlieper, 36, will not face charges.
