The first two inbound Northstar Commuter trains from Big Lake to Minneapolis have been scrubbed.due to a disabled locomotive blocking the tracks. This from Metro Transit spokesman John Siqveland:

"This is a developing situation. The second trip is now 30 minutes late and will be cancelled.

The disabled fright train is between Big Lake and Elk River and BNSF crews and mechanics are on site working to get the stalled locomotive operating again."
