A rough day for the Gophers just got a little rougher.

According to a University of Minnesota press release, Mo Walker has been suspended for six games for violating university policy. The big man will not play tonight, in the Gophers' season opener against Lehigh, which tips off at 7 p.m.

Walker has played a major role in two exhibitions, scoring a total of 28 points and adding 18 rebounds. Without him, the Gophers only option at center is Elliott Eliason. The Gophers will likely be forced to play a four-guard lineup at times.

Walker's six-game suspension means he won't be available until the second game of the Maui Invitational -- after the Syracuse matchup in the first round.

The university has not elaborated on the incident.
