DULUTH, Minn. — A former Little League baseball coach from Duluth has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two preteen boys whom he coached.
Forty-seven-year-old Peter Jay Olson pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. In exchange, the judge dismissed six other felony counts Olson was facing.
Judge Heather Sweetland ordered a presentence investigation and a psycho-sexual evaluation. Olson's sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 25.
Prosecutor Rebekka Stumme (STUM'-mee) tells the Duluth News Tribune (http://bit.ly/15LcQIj ) she'll argue for the longest sentence, which would be around 18 years.
Olson had pleaded not guilty to the eight felonies last month.
Olson coached both boys in the Lake Park Little League in Duluth. He also was a coach in the Salvation Army's Rookie Basketball Association from 1988 until he was fired in November.
