Sitting in the pressbox, you can't tell that there's snow all over town.
Twins head groundskeeper Larry DiVito and his minions put in extra shifts over the past two days to clear the field of snow and make it playable in time for tonight's game.
``We were fortunate that (Thursday) night was just drizzle, then a little snow overnight and the snow stuck last night after we had to clear the outfield.
``Today is a pretty good day, for us overall.''
DiVito said that worked on the field until 11 p.m. last night and returned at 7 a.m. to get ready for tonight's game. Most of the snow that fell over the last couple of days was melted by the on-field heating system. The final three-fourths of an inch were knocked off by tractors with pvc pipes attached to them.
Aaron Hicks is back in the starting lineup. He said he understood why manager Ron Gardenhire questioned his hustle on Wednesday in Kansas City and knows he has to run hard around the bases all the time.
Lefthander Scott Diamond has rejoined the team and will start tomorrow.
Righthander Cole De Vries, on the disabled list with a right flexor pronator strain, might try to play catch tomorrow and see how the wing feels.
Mets media swarmed righthander Mike Pelfrey today, asking him what it's like to not be a Met.
`` This is completely different for me,'' he said. ``I think it's a good different in the sense that it is low key. I don't have to talk to 30 media guys. It's kind of refreshing.
``I got to spring training and was there for like 10 days and no one had talked to me that much. 'This is kind of nice,' I thought.''
