Twins demote Burnett

The Twins have optioned righthander Alex Burnett to Class AAA Rochester. Burnett had a 7.56 ERA this spring but had pitched better of late. Obviously, it wasn't enough.

``We told Alex that he needed to firm some things up,'' Twins General Manager Terry Ryan said.

The Twims basically have 12 pitchers now. There are 15 in camp, but Tim Wood, Rafael Perez and Rich Harden are injured. Their 25 man roster looks set, but things could change over the next couple of days.

The Twins are being very coy today. When asked directly if Tyler Robertson had made the team, Ryan said., ``We can go either way with that. As you know, we haven't announced anything yet. No one has made the team because you never know when injuries enter the equation. He's still here and is in a good position.''

Byron Buxton is thrown right into the fire. ``This should be quite an experience for him,'' Twins GM Terry Ryan said. Buxton sprayed a lot of line drives during batting practice but didn't show much power. I must point out that the kid has quite a body on him and should hit for power once the man muscles kick in, ha.
