With thousands of chateaus and oft-unfriendly prices, Bordeaux is a seriously daunting region for most of us. So it's always a delight to find a truly swell one for $11. The 2010 Chateau Sabatey-Bellevue Bordeaux has a lovely floral nose and layers of earthy red fruit with just enough grip. It's smooth and balanced, and a great barometer for both the region and the vintage. Try it with herb-laden roasted white meat (pork or fowl), bean soup or lightly spiced Indian dishes. Available at Lowry Hill, MGM (Roseville), Texas Tonka, Lake Wine & Cheese, Oak Wine & Spirits and Lowertown.
