CONOR OBERST
Thursday: The test pilot for a would-be series from the Current (89.3 FM) dubbed "The Current Sessions," Omaha's indie-folk hero will answer questions from host Mary Lucia while testing material for his fall solo acoustic tour. Coincidentally or not, the Bright Eyes frontman was just in town last month at the 400 Bar, cranking out songs with his old punk band Desaparecidos. Wearing the solo hat frees him up to play material from throughout his ever-changing career, which includes stints with Monsters of Folk and the Mystic Valley Band. Mynabirds leader Laura Burhenn opens. (8 p.m. Thu. $39-$46. Fitzgerald Theater, 10 E. Exchange St., St. Paul. 651-290-1221.)
